I’m staying in an RV park north of Miltona, if you can’t find it on a map, it’s about 14 miles north of Alexandria or 80 miles northwest of St Cloud. This area is known as Lake Country’s Front Door.
The park looks like this during the week
And like this on the 4th of July weekend
Good Breakfast
Part of the 4th of July Parade
I’ve visited several lakes in the area.
Before the Minnesota government shut down, I visited this
state park, enjoyed the scenery and hiked the trail.
I had a chance to visit with new RVer friends I’d met in Texas.
They summer in Nevis, Minnesota. We drove north to
On the trail It’s a long way down (the photo below
is of the post supporting the bridge)
One of several cabins Too early in the year to take the
boat tour
Lake Itasca
A little rest in front the Visitor’s Center
Caretaker Women
On down the trail
Walking across the Mississippi
No, I still can’t walk on water.
Back up the trail on a different path
On our way back to Nevis we came upon a couple of interesting sites.
Lake George, MN Post Office and in the road!
That was a great two day trip.
My journey continues in the next blog “Minnesota Summer (part 2)”.
